SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers has been widespread in Kachin State, fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region, scattered in Eastern Shan State and isolated in Upper Sagaing and Yangon Regions, Kayin and Mon States. Weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were (5°C) to (6°C) above May average temperatures in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, Eastern Shan, Kayah and Kayin States, (3°C) to (4°C) above May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, (Northern and Southern)Shan, Chin and Mon States and (2°C) above May average temperature in Rakhine State and about May average temperature in Kachin State. The significant day temperatures were (44°C) in Chauk, (43°C) each in Gangaw and Pauk and (42°C) each in Monywa, Yeu, Kyemone(Agro- Met), Myinmu, Myingyan, Nyaung Oo, Minbu, Magway and Sinbyugyun. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (0.95) inch in Myitkyina, (0.67) inch in Mogaung, (0.52) inch in Putao, (0.28) inch in Muse, (0.19) inch in Kawthaung and (0.16) inch each in Mongyang and Myeik.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is weak to moderate over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay and weather is a few cloud to partly cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 26th May, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region and Kachin state, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region, Mon State and isolated in Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, (Northern and Eastern) Shan and Kayin States. Degree of certainty is (80%). Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (4 - 7)feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
